Hi football heads!! :-)
I'd like to say thanks for allowing me to
be in this group. I'd like to share some information about myself.
I was born in 1992 but started watching Hey
Arnold probably in 2003 (or a year earlier) when Nickelodeon started airing the
show in South East Asia (actually, the shows they used to air back in the
2000's where 90's US kid shows, including All That, so we Asians are a bit
late).
When I was a kid my favorite character was
Arnold (for obvious reasons) but now that I'm older, I consider Helga as my
favorite because she's so complex and is more of the underdog than Arnold.
I will not be naming all of my fave episodes
because there are a lot and some of them are actually obvious. Although, I just
watched Heat/Snow and I found Arnold so adorable and so childlike in those
episodes than the rest.
I like season 1 Arnold best because he
still has many imperfections than in the later seasons. He was more of a kid
than a Buddha/Superman then. Toran Caudell is my fave voice actor for Arnold.
Aside from Hey Arnold, I currently watch ‘Arrested
Development’ and ‘Veep’ every now and then. Unlike Hey Arnold, their return is
inevitable. AD producers are actually planning to have a movie.
The reason why I came back loving Hey
Arnold (more than before, actually) was due to boredom. I surfed the internet one night and read some
articles about cartoon shows with mature themes, (including ones with dirty
jokes that passed the kid-radar). That is when I "met" Hey Arnold
again. It was like meeting an old friend that cheers me up when I'm bored or
sad.
Hey Arnold is just one of those kid shows
that you can still enjoy as you get older (like is Peanuts to the 40 year old
people today). The stories are so universal and yet can be unexpected. They can
be emotional and dramatic yet does not sacrifice humor.
I really hope that Craig and company will
make 'The Jungle Movie' after he gets a go signal for 'Sky Rat' and it will
become a success in Nickelodeon.
Here's hoping.
